Members of the SUNFLOWERS project research team participated in the prestigious international conference MRS Spring Meeting & Exhibit, held from April 26 to May 1, 2026, in Honolulu.
The event is considered one of the world’s leading conferences in the field of materials research and annually brings together thousands of scientists, researchers, and industry experts from around the globe. The conference program covered a wide range of topics – from advanced materials and energy storage systems to sustainable technologies – providing valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and international networking.
The SUNFLOWERS project team actively contributed to the scientific program. Four team members presented their research results during the poster sessions, while one member delivered an oral presentation. The presented topics focused primarily on the development of new materials and solutions for modern battery technologies.
Participation in the conference significantly contributed to strengthening the project’s international cooperation, opened new partnership opportunities, and provided valuable insights for further research activities. The knowledge and experience gained will support the development of safer, more efficient, and environmentally sustainable battery solutions.
The SUNFLOWERS project is funded by the Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan and aims to advance battery technologies towards greater safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Participation in international scientific events represents an important part of the project activities, enabling the transfer of the latest research findings into practice and strengthening Slovakia’s position within the European and global research landscape.
Within the SUNFLOWERS project, the Slovak Battery Alliance (SBaA) is responsible for communication and educational activities targeting both professional and general audiences.
